‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ News Update: Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. to Feature in the Movie
The upcoming 'Spider-man: Homecoming' film will witness the entry of Iron Man, not in a cameo, but in a substantial role.
According to reports, actor Robert Downey Jr. who plays Iron Man has signed a deal with Marvel and Sony for the Spiderman movie. Previously, it was just a speculation that that the Iron Man would be joining the Spider-man movie, however, the actor has recently confirmed that he would be making an appearance in the movie, Spider-man: Homecoming.
Downey will feature in the movie alongside Oscar winning actress Marissa Tomie, who will play Aunt May Parker. It has been revealed that Downey's character, Iron Man will be mentoring Spider-man in MCU.
The movie will see Spider-man sporting a new Venom costume and if reports are to be believed, Downey is also sharing his inputs in designing the costume. However, nothing has been confirmed in this regard.
Though Spider-man: Homecoming is slated for a 2017 release, but fans are trying to figure out every detail from the behind the scene reports to anticipate about the forthcoming movie. Shooting for the movie is expected to begin from June this year. And with Downey coming onboard much ahead, it can well be expected that he will be playing a significant part.
The entry of Iron Man in a Spider-man movie is the second instance that the superhero will feature in another Marvel hero's sole movie. The first instance was when he appeared along in the movie, Captain America: Civil Wars, which is all set to release in the first half of next month.
Marvel head, Kevin Feige has revealed that the studio has plans of doing such cross-casting of the superheroes in future as well. The upcoming previous Spider-man movies will be a first from the Marvel studios.
