BMW, MINI Car Prices To Go Up By 5 Percent In India Next Year
BMW Group India announced a price hike in January for all of its cars including the MINI series starting January 1, 2015.
BMW cars will see a price hike in India starting next year. BMW Group India officially confirmed the prices all cars including MINI series will be up by 5 percent starting January 1, 2015 in a bid to maintain its premium brand image in the country. The luxury car maker is also looking to expand its presence in India with nearly 15 new sales outlets by the end of next year.
"We want to maintain sustainable leadership in the Indian market with a strong brand and an exceptional model range with unbeatable product substance. With the price increase, BMW Group will maintain its premium positioning in the Indian luxury car segment," Philipp von Sahr, President, BMW Group India, said in a statement.
BMW currently has 37 authorized dealerships across India. These markets include Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Mumbai, Bangalore, Mangalore, Indore, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Hyderabad, Chennai, Coimbatore, Pune, Goa, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Ahmedabad, Surat, Kochi, Kozhikode, Jaipur, Udaipur, Raipur, Nagpur, Lucknow and Kanpur, according to BMW.
These dealerships display all leading car models for consumers. They include BMW 1 Series, 3 Series, 3 Series Gran Turismo, 5 Series, 7 Series, BMW X1, BMW X3 and BMW X5. All these cars are locally produced at the BMW manufacturing plant in Chennai, Financial Express reported. As for the SUVs, BMW also showcases the X1, X3, X5 in all its dealerships.
BMW also imports certain models such as the 6 Series and the M cars. The car maker is looking to launch its latest i8 electric car in India sometime next year.
The BMW car range starts from Rs. 22.65 lakh up to Rs. 1.86 crore. BMW's MINI cars are also available in the Indian market, starting from Rs. 26.55 lakh and up to Rs. 35.20 lakh. The new price list will be shared later this year before it comes into effect in all showrooms next month.
