MacBook Air 2016 Release Date and Rumors Update: Is MacBook Air 2016 Being Launched Soon? Speculations Increase as 12” Model Discontinues, Air Goes on Sale
Looks like Apple MacBook Air is coming out shortly as resellers offer discounts on all MacBook Air models of 2015 while 12" MacBook sales frozen completely.
After its five-week sale on 12" MacBook Air, authorized reseller, Best Buy, has completely stopped selling the next-gen model, industry insiders claimed. According to the ordering system used by the resellers, 2015 models are being listed as "discontinued."
One look at Mac Price Guide and the information becomes suddenly credible. As Best Buy's product page says that "this item is no longer available," every other model shows as being "sold out."
If history is any indication, Best Buy has always used this terminology when the current generation product is either being discontinued or paving way for the new version. Meanwhile, resellers are selling their Air models at the lowest prices ever seen on models priced above $749.
According to insider information, Apple is likely to roll out humble upgrades for their existing 11" and 13" Air models in the short and will eventually stop the support to promote their latest cutting-edge, sleek designed MacBook models that will be available in larger display sizes.
Even though the existing 12" Air model has been praised for its stunning and lightweight design, it has often been a point of contention for critics because of its weak 1.1GHz Core M microprocessor, coupled with subpar FaceTime camera at 480p.
It has been highly anticipated that the fresh line of Mac products will be introduced during Apple Worldwide Developer Conference. Even though the conference is usually held in the month of June, the company holds off any official information until a few weeks before the event date.
