Jose Mourinho has been linked with a move to Manchester United ever since he sacked as the manager of Chelsea back in December of last year and according to plenty of medio reports, the Portuguese is all set to take over from Dutchman Louis van Gaal in the summer. However, according to reports that had originated in France last week, the former Chelsea manager was being courted by current French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain and the representatives of the two parties had been in touch regarding a possible move. The news had sent some Manchester United on social media platforms into meltdown as most of them are looking forward to a trophy laden future under Jose Mourinho from next season onwards.

The new has however been dismissed by Manchester based publication Manchester Evening News and in a report, the publication categorically reported that Jose Mourinho has not had any contact with representatives and is still very much in the frame for the possible job vacancy at Old Trafford in the summer. Louis van Gaal has presided over an eminently forgettable season for Manchester United in which they they are fighting to get to 4th place and have played some of the worst football witnessed in Old Trafford in recent years. Although, he has guided the Red Devils to the last 4 of the FA Cup, it is understood that he might be in charge even if he helps the club win the trophy.

PSG is looking for a new manager after failing to advance to the semi finals of the UEFA Champions League yet again and that was the reason why Mourinho was linked with the job. However, former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has finally relented and withdrawn his opposition to the appointment of Jose Mourinho as manager of the club and it is understood that the former Chelsea manager could well be in charge of the Red Devils when the 2016-17 season rolls in. He has also informed his close associated that he expects to be appointed as the next manager of Manchester United.
