New York Republican Primary Election Results: Donald Trump Wins New York Republican Primary Decisively
Donald Trump's run for the US Presidency received yet another boost last night when he emerged as the winner of the Republican primary elections. In an election campaign that has gone against every tenet of presidential campaigns in the history of American politics, real estate baron Donald Trump notched up one of the most vital victory in the primaries by winning the republican election for New York by a massive margin. This particular victory has made Donald Trump the candidated who is most likely going to be fighting out in the 2016 presidential elections later this year and something which everyone regarded as a joke at this point last yearhas turned into a reality that they simply cannot escame from.
Donald Trump has run a campaign in which he fought bitterly with some of his Republican colleagues like Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz and it now looks like that the man who seemed an outsider till a few months back could well be the Republican presidential candidate. Donal Trump was endorsed by a total of 847 delegates according to the estimates of CNN and the second placed candidate was Ted Cruz with a total of only 553. It is a testament to Trump's relentless assault on his opponents that has resulted in a significant drift towards his candidature among Republicans and it is expected that he will in fact be the presidential candidate for the party when the elections come along.
Trump has particularly been vocal against Hillary Clinton, the person thought to be best placed to emerge as the Democrat candidate and has carried on a bitter campaign in which he attacked her in every way possible. However, in the Democrats' primaries from New York, Hillary Clinton is all set to emerge with a huge backing from her party ahead of people like Bernie Sanders who has whipped up populist sentiments over the past few weeks in an attempt to thwart her bid for cadidature. If these two individuals fight it out in the US Presidential elections later on this year, then people can expect the campaigns to be far more vitriolic and personal. Considering the sort of campaign Donald Trump has run, it would not be a surprise.
