The showrunner Alex Gansa, unveiled the storyline of "Homeland" Season 6 giving an extra series of remarkable episodes.

Of late, Gansa announced what's in the store for its viewers in the upcoming new season. He declared that CIA, Carrie Mathison, played by Claire Danes in the Showtime's drama thriller series, will be making a comeback yet again and would be seen taking up new missions.

"Mathison in the earlier season had been working with one of Berlin's private institution as a security chief as opposed to the will of Saul Berenson, played by Mandy Patinkin (his boss in the United States). Berenson had believed that Carrie had been leaking secret information of crucial importance to foreigners, but on the contrary, it appeared that he was involved in a secret mission. The details of the mission are bound to be disclosed in the upcoming season as he would be returning back to his country of origin, the U.S." stated the Movies News Guide.

The Siver Times states, Carrie had also entered into a relationship, and she wanted to start a normal life once again. But sadly, things didn't turn up as planned and she had to leave her new relationship in the middle. Both the characters had belonged to different professions.

Alex Gansa in an interview discussed about Carrie Mathison's decision of giving her a break was not at all a unanimous decision. It was intentionally taken so as to allow her a "little domestic bliss" away from her job as a CIA agent.

The Deadline reported in Season 6, both Carrie Mathison and CIA will unitedly fight terrorism in the U.S. as compared to the previous season.

The story would be more realistic, inspired by real events. "Homeland" Season 6 shall premier on the small screen in October 2016.
