Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, whose future remains in doubt at Santiago Bernabau has been involved in clandestine discussions with the representatives of French Ligue 1 club Paris Saint Germain, according to reports and it is being speculated that the player might be in talks to engineer a move to the French capital in the summer. According to reports published in the French publication France Football, the footballer had a meeting with Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the chairman of Paris Saint Germain and more importantly the meeting took place without the knowledge of Real Madrid representatives.

It is understood that Ronaldo took a private jet from Madrid and flew into the outskirts of Paris on the same night on which he helped Real Madrid beat Wolfsburg 3-0 to advance to the semi finals of the UEFA Champions League. The meeting was held late at night at a hotel in the city and the principal topic of discussion is understood to have been about a shock move to the French Ligue 1 with Paris Saint Germain in the summer. The fact that the meeting took place without Real Madrid's consent is a clear indication that all is not well with Ronaldo and the powers that be at the Bernabau.

On the other hand, it is important to point out that Ronaldo's old club Manchester United, who are expected to go on an expensive rebuilding exercise in the summer are also interested in signing him and reports about a possible £60 million move had surfaced a few weeks back. However, the fact that Ronaldo had participated in a secret meeting with the PSG Chairman does place the French club in a far more advantageous position with respect to transfer. PSG has made Ronaldo one of their prime transfer targets for the 2016 summer transfer window however Barcelona's Brazilian super star Neymar remains their top priority and talks have been held regarding a possible move in the summer. PSG has already won the French league in a canter but their real target remains the UEFA Champions League crown and after having been knocked out in the quarter final stage this season, the club is determined to further strengthen its squad.
