Chrissy Teigen And John Legend Baby News: Couple Are Proud Parents Of A Healthy Baby Girl
The singer John Legend and his model wife, Chrissy Teigen, got their first healthy baby on Thursday, April 14. They have named her Luna Simone Stephens.
Announcing the exciting news on Sunday over Instagram, Chris Teigen put up a picture showing her daughter weighing six pounds and 11 ounces.
"She's here!" Teigen exclaimed on Instagram. "Luna Simone Stephens, we are so in love with you! And sleepy. Very sleepy."
Legend tweeted to declare the exciting news to the world on Sunday. "Our new love is here! Luna Simone Stephens, born on Thursday, the 14th. We couldn't be happier!" he said.
Teigen's pregnancy had been out on Instagram when the 30-year-old broke out the news in October. She also explained that she took a number of IVF treatments for her pregnancy, while in the past, she said that the couple was struggling to get a baby.
"As many of you know, we've been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn't been easy, but we kept trying because we can't wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family," Teigen captioned an Instagram photo of the pair at the time. "We're so excited that it's finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching!"
Revealing the gender of the baby in December, Teigen revealed more interesting details in February---that they had picked the sex together.
"I've made this decision," Teigen said. "Not only am I having a girl, but I picked the girl from her little embryo. I picked her and was like, 'Let's put in the girl.'"
"I think I was most excited and allured by the fact that John would be the best father to a little girl. That excited me," she continued. "It excited me to see ... just the thought of seeing him with a little girl. I think he deserves a little girl. I think he deserves that bond. A boy will come along. We'll get there too, so it's not like we really have to pick. But he definitely is very lucky to have a little girl. And this girl is going to be so completely lucky to have John as her papa - it's crazy!"
