House of Cards Season 5 Release Date, Spoilers Updates: Kevin Spacey Hinted Show Changes Now That Beau Willimon Is Exiting
House of Cards 5 is nearly a year away from its premiere but rumor land is already laden with teasers, spoilers, and all sorts of speculations from credible and non-credible sources. While in Paris, lead actor Kevin Spacey shared a thing or two about how things will proceed from now on without show runner Beau Willimon.
"Beau was very tired," Spacey said of Willimon's absence as quoted by Independent. "He's been working nonstop since we began. He's a remarkable man; we've had an incredible experience and without question, I'll miss him being there every day."
Spacey also went on to explain that the storyline will not radically shift to a different plot even with the writer's exit. Furthermore, he added that the production team will still be utilizing inputs that Willimon had worked on.
"But the writer's room is the same writers that we had in season four - nothing is changed in terms of the quality of the work that we're going to be doing and we've now been working towards," Spacey said suggesting continuity in the storyline as quoted Enstarz.
"Beau and I began these conversations, as we did every year, sort of about midway through the shooting of the previous seasons. So, much has been discussed, much has already been put on the table, lots of interesting ideas... we're excited now that the writing process is happening."
Meanwhile, Spacey admitted that Netflix's hit political drama series 'doesn't go far enough' in terms of putting into public light the fictional adaptation of the election's realpolitik. Nevertheless, he did slash out at one of the GOP frontrunners, assumingly Donald Trump whom he's highly critical of.
"We just need to remember he's fictional character [Underwood] and that some of the candidates running appear to be fictional too," remarked Spacey as quoted in an interview by The Guardian.
