It was being anticipated that "Half Life 3" will be released soon. But contrary to the reports, the third edition of Half Life will not be releasing anytime soon. The previous edition was released in the year 2004 and the third edition was expected to be released by Valve since the past few years.

Valve, a popular name in the gaming technology, has developed some of the biggest gaming series.

It was 1998, when "Half Life" was first revealed. And since then there has been no looking back. The series is amongst the iconic and most popular games for the last two decades.

According to reports, the prime reason for this delay is the departure of the writer and creative director of Half Life, Marc Laidlaw. He has been the guidance and the main person, who made Half Life possible. And now, with this departure, Half Life 3 might not be the same as before. Laidlaw had been working with the company for 18 years.

Another reason for this delay is that the CEO of Valve, Gabe Newell, feels that the game is already a classic and he does not want to mess with any part. This is acting like another major deterrent in Gabe's enthusiasm towards the development of the third edition of Half Life.

This is pretty bad news for gamers who were eagerly waiting for the next edition of Half Life.

The game will not be released before the year 2018, according to reports. To take things ahead and in accordance with the recent developments, the company is looking forward to release the next edition on a Virtual Reality platform. And for this, they have been in talks with Steam.

It is being said that with the VR setting, Half Life 3 will bring about a revolution in gaming technology.
