iPhone 7 Rumors Roundup: Apple To Introduce OLED Screens In 2017, Bluetooth Ear Pods This Year?

More iPhone 7 rumors are pouring in this weekend from the Far-East. Word has it the images of the iPhone 7 Plus exterior leaked online earlier could be the real deal and that Apple is likely to introduce OLED screens in 2017.

Speculation about Apple making the iPhone 7 thinner than its predecessors by eliminating the headphone jack has been around for a while. A Chinese website posted a purported image of iPhone 7 Plus which according to reputed Japanese blog is the phone's casing!

The image shows the rear of the phone with dual camera. Forbes claimed that the image also shows a Smart Connector that can help connect Apple's Smart Keyboard. Reports that speculated removal of the headphone also claimed that Apple could introduce a second speaker. According to Forbes, Apple may ship its devices with Bluetooth ear pods that can charge through the Lightning port and the iPhone 7 is unlikely to have two speakers.

In related news, new reports support earlier mentions of OLED screens for the iPhone next year. Apple's 2017 phone, dubbed the iPhone 7S, is likely to be introduced with OLED screens. Not surprisingly, Apple would have to buy the screens from its arch-rival Samsung. The two companies may ink a deal worth $ 2.5 billion for the tech and 100 million 5.5-inch screens.

KGI Securities noted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had predicted Apple could introduce a 5.8-inch iPhone in 2017 with AMOLED display. He had ruled out OLED screens for 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch devices, contrasting recent rumors of a 5.5-inch screen iPhone 7S with OLED display.

Apple's 2017 phone is about a generation away and all speculation is to be taken with a pinch of salt. Another Forbes report puts to rest all rumors that Apple could introduce OLED screens this year. The iPhone 7 will most certainly feature LCD screens like those seen on its predecessors.
