The Golden State Warriors broke a historical NBA record with 73 wins, giving Stephen Curry an additional opportunity to reveal his record-breaking performance.

What was thought as untouchable since the Chicago Bulls' scored 72 wins in 1995-1996 season, is now touchable.

The team was aiming for it as they had already had 72 wins in the season. They knew they had the chance to break the record with this one last game in the regular season and they did.

The Warriors go their 73rd win against the Memphis Grizzlies, 124-104.

According to the New York Times, Coach Steve Kerr before the game told the players that more than anything he's proud of them for an amazing season....and when they did hit the record, he didn't hide his shock.

"It's a great way to finish off what was an amazing regular season," Kerr said. "I just told our guys I never in a million years would have guessed that that record would ever be broken. I thought it was like DiMaggio's hit streak, really. I was wrong, but I will say the same thing now that I said 20 years ago, 'I don't think this one will ever be broken.' Somebody's got to go 74-8. I don't see it, and I hope our fans aren't expecting that next year."

Many wondered what the legend Michael Jordan, who played a large part in leading the Chicago Bulls to victories, would say.

Associated Press got the statement that fans wanted.

"I want to congratulate the Warriors on their amazing season," Jordan said in a statement. "The game of basketball is always evolving and records are made to be broken. The Warriors have been a lot of fun to watch and I look forward to seeing what they do in the playoffs."

No doubt the team could not get the victory without Stephen Curry. The Warriors player broke his own record of 3 pointers achieving 402 3s in the season. But still the fan-favorite said he's keeping his eye on the championship.

When asked about the 73 wins, Curry said, The goal," Curry said, "is to win a championship."
