NBA Trade Rumors: John Hammond Moving From Bucks To Pelicans
The Milwaukee Bucks had been having a hard time reaching the playoffs. Unfortunately, their failure this season puts them at the bottom part of the food chain. Latest speculations flying across the rumor land suggest a major shake-up in Milwaukee this offseason.
According to latest insider sources, general manager John Hammond and head coach Jason Kidd will be part of a major restructuring happening this summer. The embattled executive was supposedly axed last year following last season's dismal performance. Nevertheless, he managed to receive a one-year extension with the hope of reviving the team's declining fortunes.
"A year ago, there was considerable chatter Hammond would move on, only to see him receive a one-year extension. But several NBA sources contend Hammond will soon be relocating to another zip code - either being fired or leaving on his own volition," remarked Gerry Woelfel of The Journal Times.
Given 43-year-old Woelfel's uncertain future with Milwaukee, he might end up working for a different team with sources pointing to the New Orleans as his next likely destination after the end of regular season. With his purported connection to Joe Dumars-rumored to be Pelican's next President of Basketball Operations- Woelfel might just get a job soon with the same functional capacity in the New Orleans franchise according to The Bird Writes.
On another note, there are also swirling rumors about Jason Kidd's unappealing and seemingly 'arrogant' persona making him a very unlikeable figure among the owners of the franchise according to a report by Sports Rageous. Furthermore, he seems to dislike hardcourt coaching and prefers a loftier job at the front office.
Apart from Hammond and Kidd, two more players on the Buck's current roster may be traded this offseason namely Greg Monroe and Michael Carter-Williams. The team is also reportedly keen on acquiring an intimidating giant on the court with names like Utah's Jakob Poetl, Kentucky's Skal Labissiere or Marquette and Wisconsin native Henry Ellenson on their shopping list.
