The Los Angeles Lakers has been on a downward spiral this entire season so it's pretty clear that Kobe Bryant's last season is anything but a ceremonial farewell to a 20-year career that has made him one of NBA's greats.

Since his November announcement of impending retirement from professional basketball, ticket prices have ridiculously skyrocketed to unprecedented levels ahead of his final game this Wednesday. Despite having a forgettable season, Lakers can surely brag about one thing: its game with Utah Jazz has now become one of the priciest ticket in NBA history.

"Whether you're a Lakers fan or not, attending Kobe Bryant's last game of his career is a bucket list, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We are seeing the extreme interest in his finale with record-setting numbers," said StubHub spokeswoman Alison Salcedo as quoted by USA Today.

As reported by BBC News, fans are reportedly paying out as much as $27,500 just to witness Kobe Bryant's historic finale with the gold and purple team. The 37-year-old prolific scorer is expected to offer an impressive showmanship of his renowned hardcourt talent. Meanwhile, resale tickets for Golden Warriors game is currently fetching around $15,900 as the defending champion goes for a 73-record win.

"It is virtually unprecedented to see the two highest-priced regular-season games of the year take place in the last game of the season at games with no playoff stakes involved," remarked another StubHub representative Glenn Lehrman as quoted by ESPN.

To prevent getting ripped-off by racketeers, Lakers warned fans of fraudulent activities linked to purchasing tickets from untrustworthy secondary market. Instead, fans are advised to buy tickets directly on Lakers' website.

As of press time, the average StubHub ticket price is $997 for a chance to see Bryant throwing his final shots to the basket at the Staples Center after a long impressive professional basketball career.
