'Shadowhunters' Season 2 News and Rumors: Sibling Romance Progresses?, Series Returns With 20 New Episodes,
The "Shadowhunters" season 2 news and rumors are swirling around after the season finale. Fans are dying to know what will happen in the next season.
The executive producer and showrunner, Ed Decter, revealed many insights to season 2 in a recent interview with TV Line.
One main topic of conversation when it comes to "Shadowhunters" is the brother and sister relationship. Last season Jace and Clary found out that they were siblings, leading many fans to wonder about how the relationship, if there is one, will progress in the next season.
Warning: "Mortal Instruments" Spoiler Alerts
In the best-selling book that the TV series is following, "Mortal Instruments" by Cassandra Clare, the romance develops, so in an interview with TV Line, Dector was asked if the series will follow the book.
"In the books, if I recall correctly, Jace and Clary give into their urges, despite believing they're siblings. Is that something you plan on tackling in Season 2?" the interviewer asked.
To that Dector responded,"Actually, that's absolutely not true. While they are brother and sister, despite the fact that they have these odd feelings, they are chaste. There's a moment with the Seelie Queen, but that's a little different; we'll save that for the viewers. But Jace and Clary are definitely confused as to why they feel this way, which is a big point of tension in the books."
Now one of our favorite actresses from the series has also revealed even more details on season 2. Katherine McNamara, who plays Clary, took to Twitter to let the world know that there will be 20 episodes in the next season.
The actress tweeted, with a photo of the whole cast,"We'll be back soon with 20 episodes for season 2 @shadowhunterstv!Xx."
Many fans are awaiting the official airdate since the cast revealed that the series will continue for a second season. It has been reported though that the "Shadowhunters" season 2 will premiere in early 2017.
