Dutchman Louis van Gaal's second season at Old Trafford has been nothing short of a horror for the Manchester United fans and the latest defeat, a 3-0 durbbing against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Sunday has further put question marks over his future. According to reports in the British publication Daily Mail, top Manchester United players are unhappy with the way in which the team has been playing and some of the younger members of the squad are particularly unhappy at the way in which they were treated during the latest game last Sunday againts Spurs.

According to sources, the senior members of Manchester United's squad are fed up of Louis van Gaal's methods and in addition to that some of the younger members like Marcus Rashford and defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah are miffed at being substituted in the game against Spurs. Forward Marcus Rashford, who made a sensational impressiona with his two strikes in the memorable 3-2 win over Arsenal at Old Trafford a few weeks back, started the game against Spurs but he was substituted at half time and in his place, Ashley Young, a winger, was played as the lone striker. On the other hand, defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah, who had performed well up after being rewarded with a start in a big game, was substituted in the second half as well and right after his substitution, the team fell apart as they conceded 5 goals in 2 minutes.

Manchester United play West Ham United in the midweek in the FA Cup, which remains their last hope of winning a trophy this season and also face a tough run in, in the league as they try to secure a fourth place finish that would be enough for UEFA Champions League qualification next season. Jose Mourinho is waiting in the wings and it had been widely reported that he is all set to take over as the manager at Manchester United next season.
