Actor Song Joong ki and President Park Geun-hye attend opening ceremony of K-Style Hub Traditional Korean Cuisine Cultural Center [Photos]

Hallyu Star Song Joong ki meet the South Korea President Park Geun Hye during the opening ceremony of K-Style Hub Traditional Korean Cuisine Cultural Center on April 11.

K-Style Hub is a food promotional center that exhibits Korean Cuisine, promotion of culinary tourism and information on food culture to foreigners.

"The K-Style hub was designed to help foreigners have better understanding of Korea, not just introducing famous tourist destinations in the nation," said Yoon Tae-yong, a senior official at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

During the ceremony, President Park Geun Hye and Korean Tourism ambassador and star of "Descendants of the Sun" Song Joong ki toured the K-Style Hub and attended a traditional desert cooking class at the state-run Korea Tourism Organization's Seoul headquarters in central Seoul.

The president expressed her gratefulness of the presence of the actor despite his busy schedule.

"I'm very happy and glad to see you accomplished your military service and became the biggest Hallyu star."

The President continues, "Seeing you promoting even during your hectic schedule just shows that you are a true role model and a patriot in real life and not just in dramas."

The President also praised how the drama "Descendants of the Sun" contributes to the Korean Culture and Tourism. The drama being sold in 30 countries is another accomplishment for improving the Korean Wave internationally.

"It is an exemplary case of the creative economy and cultural enhancement that shows the effects of the shared growth of the content industry and manufacturing sector," President Park said at a center for Korean food in central Seoul.

President Park also mentioned the positive influence of Korean Entertainment. Kpop and Kdramas are propaganda to improve the market sales of Korean products like cosmetics, food and fashion in international trend.

The actor also received the honor of attending the ceremony together with the President.
