iPhone 7 Rumors, News and Update: Another Apple Analyst Predicts Dual Rear Camera For 5.5-Inch Plus Phone
Speculation that Apple would launch at least one phone with a dual rear camera gained more traction this week with another analyst echoing thoughts similar to those expressed by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Kuo had said earlier that Apple could launch the 5.5 -inch iPhone 7 Plus with dual-lens rear camera. The combination of a zoom and wide lens would bring DSLR-like image quality to photos captured on the iPhone 7. That apart, it would also help in simultaneous capturing of video and photo, enhancing a feature that exists in iPhones.
Recent speculation about the iPhone 7 is courtesy Brian White of Drexel Hamilton, reports MacRumors. According to White, Apple could start production of iPhone 7 could begin in July.
"Our meeting with a tech supply chain company highlighted a rough end to 2015 with significant forecast reductions from Apple; however, forecasts have been stable since then with 2Q:16 expected to be the trough," White reportedly said.
"After a year-on-year sales decline in 1Q:16, our contact expects to return to growth in H2:2016." Apple is expected to declare its Q2 2016 earnings results on April 25.
The Apple iPhone 6S was released only last September but rumors of next generation iPhone are flying thick and fast. A recent roundup of speculation suggests this year's iPhone could measure under 6.5 mm thick, down from iPhone 6S thickness of 7.1 mm. This could be achieved by removing the headphone jack, reports suggest.
Other reports suggest Apple would place antennas only at the bottom of the phone and not the entire rear. Small batteries in iPhones leave much room for speculation. Recent reports based on purported image leaks of iPhone 7 batteries claimed the iPhone 7 will have a bigger battery.
