'Beetlejuice 2' cast rumors and news: Tim Burton will start Beetlejuice 2 this year
A report by Showbiz Spy states that Tim Burton is going to start on Beetlejuice 2 this year, however this was debunked by a report by MTV. But, Tim Burton has been saying that Beetlejuice 2 is coming soon.
An interview with IGN, for the promotion of his movie 'Big Eyes' the director Burton mentioned that he's totally onboard for 'Beetlejuice' movie as long as Micheal Keaton would still be willing to play the role of 'Beetlejuice'.
Tim Burton added, "There's only one Beetlejuice, and that's Michael. There is a script, and I would love to work with him again. I think there is now a better chance than ever... I miss that character. There's something that's cathartic and amazing about it. I think it's closer than ever."
Micheal Keaton expressed his interest in being in Beetlejuice again, "I always said that's the one thing I'd like to do again, if I ever did anything again."
The screenplay is going to be penned by Seth Grahame-Smith. He told iDigitalTimes, "I think we landed on the right idea, landed on the right approach. It's just now making sure that-for me-I don't want to shit my pants in front of the entire world making a sequel to one of my favorite movies."
"I've emailed with Michael Keaton. I know he's excited about the idea. I know Tim is excited about the idea. Where it stands now is Tim's got to get ready to make ['Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children'], and then hopefully we are set, deals are done, and we're waiting in the wings ready to go right after 'Peregrine's' wraps up. The ideal timeline is we're really getting into it toward the end of this year."
