Rapper Earl Warren Hayes and estranged wife were trying to reconcile only days before their murder-suicide, according to Billboard.

After responding to reports of screams and gunshots, police found the bodies of Hayes and Moseley inside their Park La Brea unit in the Fairfax district. The initial investigation indicated that Hayes killed his wife and then shot himself.

Hayes was an acquaintance of professional boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.  Moseley was a dancer and actress who appeared in the VH1 drama series Hit the Floor about NBA cheerleaders.

"VH1 and the the entire 'Hit the Floor' family send our thoughts and condolences to her family and friends in this difficult time," the network said in a statement.

Moseley has been a backup dancer with numerous singers, including Chris Brown and Britney Spears. On Instagram, Chris Brown mourned the loss of the dancer: "RIP baby girl. Danced with me on tour and was always the coolest person. My prayers go out to you and HAZE family."

Sources connected with Moseley and Hayes told TMZ that he had accused her of infidelity with a famous singer.

The couple was married for five years before separating, but Homicide Detective Scott Masterson said that they "had recently gotten back together and were trying to work things out."

According to the detective, Moseley spoke to her family in Canada last Thursday and told them that "things were going pretty (well) and that she was upbeat and optimistic about things."

Investigators are still at lost as to what went wrong on Monday morning when the murder-suicide happened.
