After refreshing its 'J' series line-up with new additions for availability in China, Samsung is likely to consider selling the flagship device in the series worldwide.

Reports doing rounds about a week ago claimed Samsung officially introduced the 5.5-inch J7 and 5.2-inch J5 to keep its selfie-crazed fans happy; both phones are said to be equipped with front LED flash for the 5 MP camera and a rear 13 MP camera. The differences end there as the J7 is equipped with a 1080p display while its smaller cousin comes with a 720p display.

Rumor mills now suggest Samsung could launch J7 (2016) worldwide. The basis for these reports is a hardware benchmark site showing the phone with MSM8592 SoC and a 1.52 GHz processor. The rumor is the processor and chipset are Snapdragon, which means the phone is likely to go global.

Should Samsung take the J7 out of China and ship it across the world, it could be an addition to recent revenue boosts by the flagship Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, launched last month. The company's sales of the latter devices have been optimistic and are expected to exceed that of Galaxy S6.

Other features of Galaxy J7 include 16 GB storage and a massive 3,300 mAh battery, in a 7.8 mm thick body. LTE and NFC capabilities of the phone should help it find wide acceptance and the AMOLED screen with 401 ppi is also expected to attract users though it could be drain the battery.

Contrary to the rumored octa-core processor that will power the J7, the smaller J5 features a quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, a slightly smaller 3,100 mAh battery in a thicker body.

Samsung has seen its quarterly revenue and market share decline last few quarters, noticeably after Galaxy S6 failed to meet expectations. An early release of Galaxy S7 may have reversed the trend.
