Michael Schumacher Health Status News: Schumi's Condition Is Still Serious, But He is Recovering Slowly
Fans are always looking for snippets or hints about Schumacher's health updates. Even though the F1 champion is out of coma, he is still in recovery mode at his Lake Geneva mansion. According to his manager, Sabine Kehm, Schumacher is recovering, albeit slowly. For now, he is immobile and is unable to speak as a team of 15 medical staff care for him at a specially designed medical suite at his mansion in Switzerland.
Due to media blackout, there is very little information out there about Schumacher's health. However, Sabine Kehm announced recently that he is making progress in his rehab programme.
In an interview she said, "We are happy to say still he does improvement and I say this always considering the severeness of the injury he had. But of course it will take a very long time for everybody involved to fight, and we are happy to take this fight."
In another interview Sabine added that we "must always keep the seriousness of his injuries in mind".
According to an insider, Michael is still unable to walk or talk and has very little awareness of his immediate surrounding.
"Progress is painfully slow. There is no miracle on the horizon."
Michael is being helped by 15 medical professionals and is being nursed 24 x 7. The team of medical professionals is being led by Professor Jean Francois Payen, the doctor who conducted Schumacher's brain operation. Even the medical professionals believe that Schumacher may not recover from his injuries ever, including Dr. Peter Hamlyn, a consultant, neurological and spinal surgeon.
"If you look at severe head injury victims who go on to make a good recovery - and I'm not saying all do - it will always be a story of years. The first months are dominated by questions of survival. Gradually as the weeks and months go by those questions of survival turn into questions of the quality of survival."
