Halo 5 update news: Next DLC Release in 8.3 GB Update, Get Ready for Firefight Beta Next Week

The next free update of Halo 5: Guardians, Ghosts of Meridian, is all set to release today. Meanwhile, Microsoft has also announced that they will release the beta test for new Warzone Firefight mode in the coming next week.

The update, Ghost of Meridian, will come with two new maps - Tyrant (Arena) and Darkstar (Warzone). There will also be new weapons and vehicles added through the recent update. Also get the option of Hannibal customization for Mantis and Scorpion.

Apart from new content, the players will also get multiplayer changes as well as fixes. It is a big update so expect new vehicle tweaks and other things in the game. You can download the 8.3 GB version on your console to enjoy the latest offerings of the game.

Another big news for Halo 5 is that Microsoft will also launch a beta-testing period for the Warzone Firefight mode in the game. The beta will be available between April 14 and April 18. When full mode launches this summer, more maps will be made available.

"Up to eight players will fight together and utilize the Halo 5: Guardians Req System to complete five rounds of increasingly difficult, dynamic objectives set against a timer to emerge victorious."

A new promotion released by 343, Mythic Warzone Req Pack, will only be available for a week between April 14 and April 21 and will come packed with 10 mythic single-use power weapons and one highly rare weapon or vehicle.

"For use in all Warzone modes, including Warzone Firefight, this pack will ensure players enter battle with the most powerful gear available," 343 said.

Since the game's launch, Ghosts of Meridian, is Halo 5's fifth free update. The next free expansions are Memories of Reach and Hog Wild.
