Star Wars: Episode 8 News And Rumors: Yoda May Make Cameo As A Ghost

As the anticipation for the next Star Wars installment mounts, the latest roundup from sci-fi rumor land suggests a the cameo return of one of the franchise's beloved and iconic character, Yoda.

Veteran puppeteer Frank is reportedly making his way to Pinewood Studios in Bukcinghamshire allegedly to bring to life once more to the small and seemingly all-knowing Jedi Knight by controlling the voice behind the legendary master.

As reported by The Week, Oz's UK travel may have been for other work-related purposes but Pinewood, coincidentally, is where the filming is currently being done.

If the rumor proves to be accurate, then there's a good chance of having the great Jedi master on screen to accompany Rey in his path to enlightenment in Star Wars Episode VIII. With Yoda's re-appearance, we might speculate on the future cameo albeit ghostly appearances of the other Jedi masters that have long disappeared from the movie. Drawing from previous cameo resurfacing of the maverick Jedi master Liam Neeson in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, some sci-fi buffs think that other masters like Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan could all make ghostly comebacks as reported by Cinema Blend.

Screen Rant also noted that Lucasfilm may have been increasingly interested in incorporating 'Force ghosts' in the sequel to offer Luke some sort of spiritual guidance from otherworldly wise instructors.

But since such rumors remain unconfirmed, fans shouldn't pin too much hopes on mere speculation just yet until an official statement comes in.

For other related updates, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is expected to hit theaters worldwide on December 16, 2016 with Episode on December 15 the following year. The Han Solo Star Wars Anthology film is slated for cinematic release on Ma 25, 2018. Episode 9 will arrive in 2019 followed by another Star Wars Anthology film in 2020.
