Liverpool are all set to give their new manager Jurgen Klopp their full backing as he looks to rebuild the first team squad in the summer and one of his most pressing concerned is in defensive midfield, a position that the club has struggled to address over the past few seasons. However, according to reports in The Daily Mirror, the Merseyside club are well poised to wrap up a deal for Spain and Malaga defensive midfielder Ignacio Camacho when the transfer window opens up. Camacho has been one of the most important members of the Malaga squad over the past few seasons and has put in consistent defensive midfield displays agaisnt the best teams in the Spanish La Liga that has made him a target for a host of clubs across Europe.

The midfielder has a release clause of only £10 million and Liverpool are willig to meet the clause as soon as they possibly can. However, it is important to point out that Malaga would not want to lose out on one of their most valuable players for such a paltry sum and are currently working on persuading the player to sign a new deal. If the player signs the new deal then Malaga might be able to keep hold of him in the near future or at least insert a bigger buy out clause so that they are able to make a handsome profit. Liverpool are confident that they can conclude the deal this summer for £10 million since the player has not signed anything yet and has not shown any inclination to drive up his transfer fee.

The defensive midfield position is something that Liverpool has struggled with for some seasons now and over the past two seasons they have had to make do with veteran midfielder Lucas and new German recruit Emre Can, however none of the two have been able to put in consistently good performances at the position. Camacho is a holding midfielder who will bring in much needed pedigree to the heart of Liverpool's midfield so that technicians like Firmino and Coutinho can thrive.
