Michelle Rodriguez: 'I'm Jealous That Paul Walker Died First'
When Paul Walker died in a car crash over the Thanksgiving holiday in 2013, it was shattering for his fans as well as his Fast and Furious franchise co-stars. For the first time, Michelle Rodriguez talked about his death. She said a few mad things---that she's not as sad as she is jealous that Paul Walker died first.
He had been shooting his final scenes for the sequel Furious 7, but after his death, the movie was rewritten to remove his character from the sequence.
Michelle Rodriguez made her comments that have been captured in the documentary The Reality of Truth. It took her a summer trying to cope, and she took the hallucinogenic drug ayahuasca, which helped her to understand what lies beyond this world.
And then, suddenly, she felt jealous of her friend. She said:
"I went through about a year of just being like an animal. Like, what could I do physically to just get my mind off of existentialism? Get my mind off of how transient life is and how we just come here and can disappear at any moment. I did everything I could possibly do to hide from myself."
Due to her ingestion of ayahuasca, Michelle Rodriguez could feel her way through new experiences.
"It wasn't a sadness that he's gone. It was more like a jealousy that he's there first."
The official website for The Reality of Truth said the full movie will be available soon. Presented by Mike "Zappy" Zapolin, it features a number of interviews with leaders such as Deepak Chopra, Ram Dass, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Transcendental Meditation leader Dr. John Hagelin, bestselling author Dr. Norman Rosenthal, and much more.
The Reality of Truth is an exploration of alternative spiritual and purist forms of reality that various people all over the world go through.
