Scandal Season 6 News Update and Rumors: Is the Show Set to Bring Down the Curtains?

The third most celebrated series, Scandal, could just be nearing its last days.

As per Kerry Washington who owns up the hit series, the next season could probably mark the end of the series, and that the fate of the drama largely depends on Shonda Rhimes. However, in the last month's renewal of the drama series, which happens to be the sixth season, the creator Shonda Rhimes affirmed the fact that Scandal is a limited story, as opposed to her other creations such as the Grey's Anatomy which could continue for years to come.

As per the creator she is not pre-empting, or rather envisioning, a substantial growth in the main character i.e. Olivia Pope played by Kerry Washington. The drama, as per reports, is apt only for a moment of time and the best way to communicate the story is to end it at the right time, and at the right note.

There has been, however, no update on the part of Washington. As per her revelation, she did not have any discussion with Rhimes about the closure of the drama series, and has complete trust on her decision taking abilities. On the same lines, Washington's co-star Tony Goldwyn too revealed that he was not aware of any such news of the series closing down. However, he feels that the next series of the Scandal could possibly be a logical end point to the series.

However, none of the characters are sure of any material closure of the drama, and does feel the chances of Rhimes surprising everyone and extending the show beyond its expected conclusion. As per Goldwyn, he would not be surprised if Rhimes takes any sudden decision which could go against the trend or the convention as she is extremely unpredictable in that front.
