Dexter Season 9 News Updates and Rumors: Is Dexter Making a Comeback!

The popular crime drama series "Dexter" might be back as reports related to the revival have started emerging; giving fans and followers the much-needed good news they have been pining for.

As per reports, the creative team behind the show wants to resurrect sociopath Dexter Morgan and they are pretty interested in doing Season 9. This adds to the positive reports doing the rounds, according to which Michael C Hall aka Dexter has also shown a willingness to return and reprise his iconic role of the serial killer and the forensic technician.

He had left the show after doing 8 seasons in 2014 and had promised that he will not return in future, much to the despair of his fans. He had also challenged the channel to recast the role if they wished to continue.

After such a bitter face-off, it was nearly impossible to believe that the actor would return for a Season 9 but he has shown a fair interest. Though there has been no confirmation from his side, he has said that if the timing is right, he would certainly consider Dexter.

It is worth mentioning here that Michael has not done much of films or television after the end of the series. And the channel has also had no other series as successful as Dexter.

Meanwhile, president of Showtime, David Nevins has said that he would usher in the ninth season if Michael and Jennifer (lead couple) are willing to return to the show. He did indicate towards introducing changes and emphasized that he needs to come up with something different and fresh.

Notably, this Showtime series has been a major hit right from its inception in 2006 and the first four seasons generated superb ratings with season 4 finale getting a record-breaking 2.6 million viewers. However, the last four seasons did not do as well as the previous ones. Still, the going was good enough all the while.
