WWE News And Rumors: Sting Wants Huge, Dream Match Before He Retires
Following his induction to the World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Fame, 57-year-old legendary pro-wrestling veteran Sting officially marked his retirement from the industry in his farewell speech at the American Airlines Center last Saturday night.
Although his exit is inevitable due to old age and amount of injuries he sustained over the course of his career, there are rumors swirling all over the place that he might get his dream match-up at WrestleMania 32 on Sunday in the Hell in a Cell match with no other than one of pro-Wrestling's most respected icon, The Undertaker.
This fantasy 'Legend vs Legend' match-up is something many fans have been aching for years. As reported by the Inquistr, a dream Hell in a Cell match would showcase Sting finding his way into the match between Shane McMahon and The Undertaker. In the course of that imagined set-up, Undertaker is reportedly bound to lose which would trigger a feud leading up to a final match at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, Florida.
Sting, in his part, also dreams of clashing against The Undertaker on the ring in an epic battle worth remember- a legacy that he could impart to wrestling fans before he totally closes the door.
"I have a dream match that I want with the Undertaker. If I have my way, it's going to happen," said the wrestling veteran as quoted by Sports World News. He also added, "It started with the fans. I was always the WCW guy and he was always the WWE guy. Now I'm the WWE guy, and its merged and wrestling fans have always wanted to see that."
While many fans sure hope that it would happen, it's all up to the franchise whether to make it happen or night. However, there are observers who think that Sting is probably calling his retirement a sure farewell to his pro-wrestling career that spanned for about three decades.
"You've heard me say it before; you've heard me say it for years that the only thing that is for sure about Sting is nothing is for sure. Until now," said Sting as quoted in a Fox News report. He went on saying, "On this very night at this very moment I'm going to finish my wrestling career under the WWE umbrella and I am so proud of that. I am officially going to retire tonight. I just want you to know this isn't goodbye, it's just see you later."
