Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo News and Rumors: Ronaldo Puts His House up for Sale; Sparks Transfer Speculation
Real Madrid super star Cristiano Ronaldo has sparked speculation regarding his future after he put up his mansion in Madrid up for sale, according to reports in a Spanish gossip website. Ronaldo, who has been linked with moves back to his old club Manchester United or to Paris, with Paris St. Germain has not had the best of seasons with the Spanish club in 2015-16 and speculation regarding his future is not off the mark. According to the Spanish website OK Diario, which is known primarily for celebrity gossip, Ronaldo has not only put up his own mansion for sale but also his mother's house as well.
He bought the house for $5.6 million in 2010, a year after he had made the switch from Manchester United to Real Madrid in a record breaking deal and he is willing to sell the 8600 square foot property for $5.7 million. The house, situated in the exclusive La Finca area of Madrid, is a major landmark of the area and boasts of a gym, personal theatre, indoor swimming pool and other amenities that one would expect in the residence of one of the highest paid athletes in the world.
In the current season, Ronaldo has not been able to maintain his lofty standards as far as goal scoring is concerned and has scored 28 goals in 30 games in the La Liga. Last year, he had scored 48 goals in 35 games and hence the speculation regarding his future has been doing the rounds for some time. Paris St. Germain would almost certainly be looking for a marquee signing in the summer in order to replace their departing super star Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ronaldo could be the ideal replacement in that regard. On the other hand, Manchester United have been in pursuit of Ronaldo since 2013 and according to source, they are still interested in re-signing their former star. Needless to say, Ronaldo might well be looking to buy a new house in Madrid rather than changing clubs and all the speculation regarding his future might fizz out if that happens to be the case.
