Xiaomi Mi 5 Pro Rumors: Passes Extensive Durability Test
In a grueling durability test, Mi 5 Pro turned out to be a sturdy phone. Much of it can be attributed to the ceramic-backed body of the device that is capable of enduring scratches from intense hardware tools. Alex Wang, the video host, brings the surface of this handset in contact with various metallic objects such as a drill, saws etc.
While the video itself might appear staged, but all these tools together failed to leave even the smallest scratch on the phone's back. Number of tools that were used in the test were harsh but one cannot help but point out that a slight more pressure could be used. Regardless, the ceramic body looks like it can handle the torture well, which means that your phone will have ample protection from stuff like coins, keys etc. in your pocket.
Xiaomi launched Mi 5 Pro last at an event in Barcelona. This is the first time that the Chinese manufacturer unveiled their handset out China. The device looks like it is all set to take on the highly competitive smartphone market, dominated by players like Samsung and Apple.
The latest flagship handset by China's largest smartphone manufacturer, Xiaomi, shares its design with Mi Note. Additionaly, the handset boasts a "Zirconium 3D ceramic body." Other specs include a 5.15-inch screen with 1080p display, powered by Snapdragon 820 chip, 16-mp rear camera, dual card slots, 4G LTE, USB Type-C port and a 4-mp selfie camera
Xiaomi has two standard models for this version and an additional 'Pro' variant. The only difference between these two is that the Mi 5 Pro has a high-quality ceramic back as opposed to the glass finish and comes with 4GB RAM.
