Xiaomi Mi 5 release date and rumors: Mi 5 may be Xiaomi’s Answer to Apple iPhone SE
iPhone SE is off to a roaring start with powerful pre-order statistics that look promising for the company's new handset. However, soon after Apple's announcement, Xiaomi took cue from pre-order tally of Apple's latest iPhone and started planning its own 4.3-inch model.
If latest leak is to be believed, Xiaomi Mi 5 will be the new flagship device that the Chinese OEM is likely to release in 4.3-inch screen.
Leaked information reveals that Xiaomi has developed its flagship handset in a compact design with high-end hardware. According to the Chinese sources, features a Snapdragon 820 chipset, 13 MP front camera and 3GB RAM. The phone is also speculated to have an internal memory of 32 GB and an HD display. This 4.3-inch is rumored to launch in June 2016.
Similar to iPhone SE, Xiaomi will unveil this handset at a low price. Handsets like these will give the consumers an opportunity to purchase a powerful handset but at low-end price points.
Design leaks suggest that Mi 5 will have a metal frame with glass panel at the back. It will also sport a fingerprint sensor integrated into home button. The best feature of this handset will be its 16MP rear camera that comes equipped with hardware stabilization.
Powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Xiaomi Mi 5 will receive weekly software updates. This handset is also somewhat of a milestone because it comes with company's in-built video calling app. This handset offers a cross platform video chat app that offers multitasking modes apart from live video effects.
