Google is improving its device tracking app Android Device Manager by adding a call back number along with a custom message for people to contact in case they find a lost phone.

Google is simplifying the process of finding lost Android smartphones using its device tracking software. The latest update rolled out to Android Device Manager app on Play Store allows users to add a call back number along with a custom message that can be used to contact the rightful owner of a lost device.

The new feature in the Android Device Manager app is more of an appeal to the person who finds the lost device. Though, owners do have the option of setting up a lock and erasing all the information remotely, it is worth trying to get the lost device by sending a request. In addition to the call back number, Android smartphone users can also set up a custom message that will be displayed on the phone's screen through the "lock" section of the app, Engadget reports.

Android Device Manager is a useful app for Android smartphone users who can use it to locate their lost phones on Google Map. The app is similar to "Find My iPhone" for iOS devices launched just a year ago. Like any other device tracking app, the Device Manager allows users to remotely control their lost smartphones or tablets. Users can reset their device's PIN, trigger an alarm at phone's maximum volume and also wipe the data stored on the phone completely.

The Device Manager is available for download from Google Play Store and can be accessed via Web here.
