Microsoft Surface Hub Release Date and Rumors: Microsoft's Monster Wall Mount Tablet Started Shipping (VIDEO)

Microsoft started to ship its Surface Hub to business customers finally. It's a wall-mounted tablet, the enormous display that comes in two versions, a 55-inch HD model and the impressive 84-inch 4K version. The devices will cost $9,000 and $22,000, respectively. Both the products have been targeting business and enterprise users. Microsoft suggest that fields like healthcare, manufacturing, automotive, consulting, defense, finance, education, and design can all make good use of the this giant device.

According to Engadget by Roberto Baldwin, "Microsoft is finally shipping to business customers its interactive whiteboard replacement, the Surface Hub. Unveiled at the Windows 10 launch last year, the collaborative machine was delayed last year. But it looks like its about to find its way into a corporate meeting room near you."

Microsoft did not revealed numbers on how many Surface Hubs have been ordered.

In details 55-inch model has 1,920 x 1,080 resolution at 120Hz with a contrast ratio of 1,300:1. The device has 8GB of RAM, 128 GB SSD, a fourth generation Intel Core i5 processor and Intel HD 4600 graphics. The device also has a pen, so writing with it will be precise as it is on Surface Pro tablets. Basic features do support for Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and gigabit Ethernet, and four USB ports, including two based on the USB 3.0 standard.

"Our early Surface Hub business partners can tell you confidently that they work together better with Surface Hub," Microsoft devices marketing GM Brian Hall writes today. "This is why we built Surface Hub. [.] We are excited to see how Surface Hub will bring people together to work, create and learn in new ways."
