Brooklyn Nets Trade Rumors: No Plan to Trade Andrei Kirilenko

The Brooklyn Nets have no trade deals in place for their small forward, Andrei Kirilenko, sources reported. Over the past few weeks, the rumors suggested that Kirilenko, 33, would be leaving New York for either the Philadelphia 76ers or the Utah Jazz. However, due to family issues, the trade rumors have dried up.

Kirilenko revealed that he has been dealing with family issues, which forced him to miss 10 days with the Nets. Even though Kirilenko has decided to keep his problems private, he has stated that his personal family issues will affect him through to January and February.

These issues have prevented him from traveling with the team. After missing valuable time with the Nets, he returned to practice this past Monday. The combinations of these problems have subsequently diminished his trade value. With no teams knocking on the door, Kirilenko will most likely stay put.

"He hasn't been playing," Billy King, the Nets' general manager, said to Andy Vasquez of the Bergen Record. "And we had talked about possibly...moving him. Nothing is happening."

"Andrei has all the power now," an NBA executive told Yahoo Sports. "He can say he likes the situation enough to play or not to play."

Kirilenko currently does not have a role for the Nets' rotation. Coach Lionel Hollins has commented that Kirilenko could potentially find his way back into the rotation. His future is currently unclear.
