Santa Clarita Diet: Netflix Comedy Series to Star Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant are all set together to team up to star in the upcoming Netflix comedy series - Santa Clarita Diet, scheduled to be aired in 2017.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the show is all about Joe and Shiela, a married couple of realtors. The protagonists, Joe is played by Olyphant and Drew plays his wife, Sheila. The couple stays in the suburb area of Santa Clarita, Los Angeles.

Netflix officials have stated that the casting of Drew and Timothy along with the comic sense of Victor would definitely steal the attention of the crowd, and would delight and surprise people around the globe. There is a lot of hope which is vested on the two characters, who are the main characters of the show.

The story of Santa Clarita which is inevitably the main plot of the comedy show has its roots in Better off Ted writer, Victor Fresco, who has written the main plot of the show as well as the scenes and dialogues. In addition to this, Victor would also act as the executive producer of the Netflix comedy series, along with Barrymore and Olyphant who in turn are the main characters in the comedy series as per reports. Apart from that, there has been an investment coming from other partners as well which includes Kapital Entertainment's Kaplan, Tracy Katsky, Chris Miller as well as Ember Truesdell. With the support of all these co-producers, the comedy series by Netflix is all set to be a blockbuster hit in the upcoming year of 2017.

However, there is a lot of work which is still pending. There has been no announcement on the starting of the comedy series and also the episode count of the series - all of which is still yet to be announced.
