Why Khloe Remains 'Friends' With Near-Divorced Husband Lamar Odom
You feel that you have an insight into Khloe Kardashian's intimate details if you read her website. On Monday, the 31-year-old reality star talked about her relationship with the husband, Lamar Odom, whom she almost divorced.
She called off her divorce with him after he collapsed at a Nevada brothel last fall.
The 31-year-old Kocktails With Khloe host wrote that she wants to feel that she can be cordial with the men in her life---both past and present---and that she wants to always "feel like I can say hi to anyone I've had a relationship with if I saw them in public."
"I want to feel like I can text a guy I've dated in the past to see how he's doing without it being weird," Kardashian wrote.
She has some mixed feelings about remaining Lamar's friend, but acknowledges that it need not feel that way.
"You need a break, so you can process everything, and you need to respect yourself and your own emotions. If it's toxic to remain friends, you shouldn't, and if you haven't had closure, you can't be friends yet. But it doesn't have to be that way forever."
Still, she believes that even if some relationships can be ephemeral, she would want her husband back with her.
"If my relationship with someone didn't have substance anyway, we don't need to keep in touch. I don't need to stay friends with a guy I fucked for two weeks."
"If it's a relationship that served a purpose in my life, like Lamar, why wouldn't I want them in my life afterwards?" she said. "Just because you break up with someone doesn't mean you lose that connection."
Khloe does explore ways to cement relationships. "I always want to feel like I can say hi to anyone I've had a relationship with if I saw them in public. I never want to go anywhere and be nervous because so-and-so is there. That's so awkward!" she elaborated. "If it is awkward between us, I want to find a way to fix it. I'm not about that bad energy!!!"
She said the same thing about Scott Disick, her sister Kourtney's ex-flame. They have split, even though the couple shares three children--- son Mason, 6, daughter Penelope, 3, and 14-month-old son Reign.
"He was a huge part of our family and always will be," said Khloe.
