Boston Celtics will be in a position to fish a big star in this summber and Kevin Durant can be one of them as he becomes unrestricted free agency.

According to ESPN , the Celtics are in a real position to land a top free agent this summer, and that includes Kevin Durant.

"With Boston positioned to fish again this summer for that elusive big catch that could propel the team forward, the Celtics would covet the chance to pitch Boston as a possible destination when Durant reaches unrestricted free agency. Scoff if you want - and most will - the Celtics are in position to make an intriguing sales pitch to any star talent that becomes available. And that would include Durant, who might benefit from simply escaping a bloodthirsty Western Conference that's compounded his quest for a championship. But Ainge's desire to see Durant in green stretches back almost a decade, and it's not just an assumption from him sitting next to Wanda Pratt at a Big 12 semifinal."

While Kevin Durant was at the free throw line Celtics fans were chanting "come to Boston" in recent game against the Celtics. Durant's 28 points led Thunder to 130-109 win over Celtics. However, Durant played innocent when asked about the chants. "I didn't even hear that, man," he said. "I couldn't understand what they were saying. They said that?"

Also when asked about the city Boston, Kevin Durant recently mentioned "I like the city a lot," Durant said after a shootaround at the TD Garden. "It's cold but they love sports here. It's a family atmosphere I feel when I walk around the city. So yeah, I like it a lot." He continued saying "Before this game I was hoping that everything goes well our last game so I could finally play here. It's been three years since I played (in Boston), so, yeah, looking forward to it. They're some of the best fans in the world and definitely support their team."

However, it's not like Kevin doesn't like playing for the Oklahoma Thurders. He recently told The Vertical "Look, we like each other," "We like playing with each other. We like being around each other. Sometimes it comes down to basketball. Sometimes, X's and O's are the reason you lose games. It's not always leadership issues or camaraderie issues; sometimes other teams just play better basketball than you. But we love each other."

He has not yet given any clue into any likely teams that he is going for, which is to be expected, but the Celtics are as attractive as any other team. But Thurders has a strong merti: The Thunder do own Durant's Bird Rights, giving them the option to exceed the cap. Other teams could sign Durant outright, but they would need to fit Durant's salary without going over the cap, potentially stopping a team's ability to build a championship team around him.

There are also specutlation that Warriors and Spurs are interested in Kevin Durant.
