Frank Sinatra Jr Dead: Singer Dies at 72 Due Cardiac Arrest While On Tour
Frank Sinatra Jr, who is best known for continuing his father's music and at the same time giving it a personal twist, unexpectedly meet his end while on tour in Florida. He is 72 years old and had suffered from a fatal heart attack.
The singer is reportedly slated to perform at the Peabody Auditorium in Daytona, Florida as part of his Sinatra Sings Sinatra tour, which consists of the performance of his father's timeless classics, on Wednesday evening.
The show, named Sinatra Sings Sinatra, As I Remember It, highlights the 72-year old's life with his father and is made possible with stories, photos and video. It also comes with performances of the classic hit singles, Come Fly with Me, Strangers in the Night, My Way and New York, New York.
"The Sinatra family mourn the untimely passing of their son, brother, father, uncle, Frank Sinatra, Jr. of cardiac arrest while on tour in Daytona, Florida. January 10, 1944 - March 16, 2016," Nancy Sinatra, the sister of the deceased in Frank Sinatra's first wife, wrote on her official Facebook page.
The message that reads, "Frank Sinatra Jr has passed away. Our love to his family and friends," can also be seen in the singer's page.
Some friends and celebrities who expressed condolences of the late singer include Tony Bennett, TV and radio host Larry King, animated comedy creator Seth MacFarlane and Mia Farrow.
Although, Frank Sinatra Jr is the keeper of his father's music, it was said that he was not close to his dad and had spent most of his time in boarding schools.
"When I started as a kid, I wanted to be a piano player and songwriter. I only became a singer by accident. I was in college, playing in a little band. The lead singer got tanked one night. A guy in the band pointed at me and said, 'You sing.' I said, 'Me? Why me?' He said, 'You're a Sinatra, aren't you? Sing!'" he once said in an interview.
