Transformers 5 Cast and Release Date, News and Rumors: Transformers 5 in the Offing, Touted as Michael Bay’s Last in the Series
Michael Bay will don the directorial robe for the fifth time to give shape to the successful series of Transformers. According to Day Herald, the production of Transformers 5 has been confirmed by Paramount Studios and the Oscar-winning scriptwriter has said yes to the project. The filming will begin in May 2016 and it is expected to be released on June 23, 2017.
Though Bay will not be scripting the story, he will help the team of writers comprising Ken Nolan, Matt Holloway and Art Marcum. Rumors were swirling around for quite long regarding Transformers 5 and it was also being said that Michael will be replaced by some other director.
Parent Herald stated that Michael had expressed a desire to hang his boots saying that he has worked on his share of the Transformers movie. But things seem to have transformed with Paramount Pictures realizing that the series would not spell magic in the absence of the Midas touch of Michael.
It is worth mentioning here that the Transformers series of science fiction action films has made waves across the world. Transformers (2007), Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009), Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) and Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) is altogether a $3 billion franchise. The fourth in the series was a major hit, making over $1.104 billion worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing film of 2014.
The casting of Transformers 5 has not been finalized yet, but the team has revealed that the shooting will be done in Detroit, Michigan as well as in different locations across the UK. Lee Rosenthal, who is the President of Paramount Pictures Physical Production has also confirmed the news about shooting locations. However, there has been no denial of the rumors that the studio was planning to get tax benefits by filming in foreign locations.
