007 Returns with “Spectre”: British Toymaker Hornby to Sell James Bond Cars
007 will be back on the big screen with Spectre, the 24th film in the James Bond series. Daniel Craig will reprise his role as the suave British agent, James Bond.
Coinciding with this week's announcement about the new film's title, British toymaker Hornby announced that it will sell model vehicles based on the film. This is a tradition that dates back to half a century when the first James Bond film was released.
According to Hornby, who won the international license to sell Corgi and Scalextric-branded James Bond merchandise, the new range of products will be displayed at the London Toy Festival in January 2015.
James Bond fans have a lot to look forward to as Hornby Chief Executive Richard Ames confirmed that the partnership between the toy firm and the Martini-sipping spy will continue a long way, the Reuters Canada reported.
In reference to one of Bond's most popular films, Ames said, "James Bond has been a fantastic licensed partnership for our brands going back over 50 years with Corgi's Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger winning the very first toy of the year award in 1965."
Much excitement was also generated by the new Bond ride. A new sports car, the DB10, will be built by Luxury carmaker Aston Martin which supplied Bond with his favorite car in the past films. Only 10 specially-designed models of the DB10 will be made.
Christoph Waltz, Lea Seydoux, Dave Bautista, Andrew Scott and Monica Bellucci will join Daniel Craig in Spectre which is set to be released in November 2015.
