Make international calls directly from Skype for Web to cell phones and landlines by using subscriptions and Skype credits, said the company officials in a company blog.

The users can simply log in to Skype's web portal, web.skype.com, with their login credentials and connect. While Skype for Web is still in its beta stage, it removes the need to download the app before instant messaging or conferencing with others.

Microsoft is enhancing the usability for Skype for Web by adding capabilities such as ability to watch YouTube video inside the application via a video link. Another feature being introduced with Skype for Web is the ability to add more people to a conversation, even if they don't use Skype, said the executives. The users will be able to receive notifications on their Skype for Web even while working in a different tab.

Despite adding multiple new features to its web functionality, calling landlines and mobile phones perhaps take the winning spot. If you are well versed with Skype application on your smartphone or desktop, especially with regards to making outbound domestic and international calls, you will be able to get used to Skype for Web in no time. Simply click Call Phone tab, choose the destination and dial the number, it is as simple as that! However, do note that you will require Skype credit or subscription to be able to make the calls.

"Last year we brought you a web version of Skype which lets you get straight to your Skype conversations from any computer," a new post to the Skype Garage & Updates blog notes. "Skype for Web is great whether you're using a shared computer that doesn't have Skype downloaded, or you just prefer using a web version instead of a downloaded app."
