Hawaii copes with back-to-back hurricanes
The first of two tropical systems has arrived in Hawaii bringing with it dark clouds, strong winds, and high waves.
The first system, Tropical Storm Iselle, made landfall August 8, according to Reuters. Close behind Iselle is Hurricane Julio, a Category 3 storm.
Around 1,200 people evacuated their homes and sought shelter at schools and gymnasiums throughtout Hawaii. The storm also left around 5,000 people without electricity.

The mad rush for supplies resulted in empty shelves and shocking price increases.

Many businesses were closed as the storm approached. Many of them boarded up their windows to protect themselves.
