It has only been a while since Galaxy S7 series were rolled out, touted to be Samsung's flagship phone, and the fans are already looking forward to the next high-end offering by the tech giant.

If the speculations are to be believed, the premium Galaxy Note 6 will launch towards the later half of the year, expectedly in August.

Rumors are already pointing towards an August release just like last year when Samsung Galaxy Note 5's launch last year snagged all the attention at the IFA in Berlin, 2015. However, for Samsung to repeat the same gig like previous year, it would have to outdo a very strong contender, Apple iPhone 7 which is perhaps the most anticipated release of 2016. It is believed that Apple is going to bring in some serious design changes with its new flagship phone so Samsung has a lot to compete with.

While there is no confirmed news about either of the two devices, industry experts speculate that they already have a sound belief that Samsung will bring a lot of enhancements and improvements in their Galaxy Note 6. Galaxy Note 6 may even be launched as a smartphone-laptop hybrid for the professionals on the move. An industry insider even reports that a patent for "phablet dock" has already been applied for by Samsung. To complement the laptop kind design, Samsung will be the first company to launch a smartphone with 6 GB RAM.

The users can also expect increased internal storage. This rumor is followed by the company's announcement about assembly of 256 GB memory chips that they will use in their smartphones. With Galaxy S7, the company also brought back the microSD support and Galaxy Note 6 may have the same feature.

While Galaxy Note 6 is expected to feature 5.7-inch screen, Samsung might change the phablet's design to make it handy and compact.
