Batman vs Superman News and Rumors: Zack Snyder Wanted Christian Bale as Non-Batman
One of the most anticipated releases of the year, Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice will hit the theaters in just two weeks' time. And right before its release, a major detail has come out from the publicity machine which is bound to cheer up the fans.
As per reports, director Zack Snyder wanted Batman Begins star Christian Bale to be cast in a lesser role in the 2016 release. Zack is reported to have told IGN in an interview that he just wanted Christian to play a different character. He further added that people at the studio would keep asking him if he would repeat people from other movies and he dismissed them saying the Warner Bros movie is a different world.
This revelation is quite interesting given that Jesse Eisenberg has been recast in the character of Lex Luthor. Rumors have been doing the round that the super villain's character was rewritten to fit Jesse in. But Synder begs to differ and contradicted the claim vehemently. He categorically said that the script was written with a new version of Lex in mind and after meeting Jesse, he was sure that he would do justice to this new avatar.
Clearing the air on the superheroes co-existence and the impossibility of Superman to have found place in Christopher Nolan's Batman films, Synder said : "In the Batman universe that Chris Nolan created, Superman would have a hard time existing. That's why we did a reboot on the universe so we could allow these characters to exist together. We needed to do that to have Batman exist in this worl."according to theweek.
It is worth mentioning that the movie has been in news ever since it went on floor last year. It had caused a massive stir among Batman fans when director Zack Snyder chose Ben Affleck to play the role of the Caped Crusader instead of Christian Bale. The latter had also admitted disappointment at the casting.
