Hewlett Packard Enterprises Launched Machine Learning Feature
Two years into its beta form, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has finally announced the commercial roll-out of its machine-centric developer cloud platform called Haven onDemand as a learning-as-a-service offering for emerging developers, startups, and businesses to help them build mobile and enterprise applications.
Built on a self-service model using cloud-based platform, Haven OnDemand-related services include cognitive computing solutions, image analysis, indexing, search APIs, speech recognition, and text analysis. HPE's ultimate goal is to provide developers a wide range of machine learning tools that deal with the complexities of contextualized data.
"The software industry is on the cusp of a new era of breakthroughs, driven by machine learning that will power data-driven applications across all facets of life. HPE Haven OnDemand democratizes big data by bringing the power of machine learning, traditionally reserved for high-end, highly trained data scientists, to the mainstream developer community," remarked HPE Big Data Senior VP and General Manager Colin Mahony as quoted in the company's press release.
As reported by CDA news, HPE aims help startups and enterprises achieve efficiency in terms of processing big data without having the need for specialists that deal with a number of tasks like basic format conversion, text analysis, or facial recognition. So even with just little knowledge on statistics and other complex office functions, the new HP feature can help individuals get through them.
Although Haven OnDemand is now available commercially, beta users can still continue to make use of the platform's 'freemium' services that enable them to develop and test APIs free of charge and optimize business performance as reported by CIO Today.
Among the offered services for the new HP package are knowledge graph analysis and predictive functions. Hewlett Packard has also made data connection made easier even from various locations with the aid fo Dropbox or Sharepoint.
