A credible media person is saying that Dwight Howard is interested in playing for the New York Knicks. Howard will be a free agent during the summer of 2016.

According to ESPN’s Ian Begley Howard could be a potential target for the NY Knicks. “One name to keep in mind this summer is Dwight Howard,” Begley wrote. “Some of Howard’s friends have let it be known recently that the center would be interested in coming to New York as a free agent if he opts out of his current contract, league sources say. Whether Jackson and the Knicks would be interested in a player like Howard is another question entirely.”

Also it's not a news that James Harden and Dwight Howard do not team up too well on the basketball court.

The Knicks are expected to have around $18 million in cap space, and that makes it very possible to acquire Howard.

Dwight Howard is an eight-time All-Star with five All-NBA First Team and three Defensive Player of the Year awards, and has brought his teams to three Conference Finals appearances and one Finals appearance as Orlando Magic player. (They lost to Kobe Bryant's LA Lakers in 2009)

Once Howard joins Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis at New York, then the team will become one of the best front court in the NBA.

In the meantime there is a swirling rumor that Carmelo might leave the Knicks as well. But if he stays he will actively try to bring Rajon Rondo – for some reason.

If Howard really choose to go to Knicks , he will probably replace Robin Lopez as the starting center and be able to improve the defense of the ailing Knicks.

Caremlo, Howard and Rondo in home team will be a heck of a team indeed.
