Madonna's concert in Manila, Philippines on Wednesday and Thursday this week was greeted by criticisms from a Catholic Archbishop saying that her show is the work of evil in which Catholics and the rest of Filipinos should shun.

According to Philstar, Archbishop of Batangas Ramon Arguelles is discouraging Filipinos to watch the Rebel Heart concert, one of the most expensive concerts in the country, labelling it as 'subtle attacks of the evil one.'

"I admonish the faithful to be wary of the subtle attacks of the evil one. Before it was Lady Gaga. Now it's Madonna. Why is the Philippines a favorite venue for blasphemy against God and the Holy Mother? Let us pray for our country that the devil will not succeed to draw anyone of this Pueblo Amante de Maria to his evil ways. Lord Jesus, save us from this ideological colonization. Mama Mary, protect the Philippines," he said.

Aside from her sexually-charged performances, the Queen of Pop has been famous in using Catholic symbols, crucifixes and other blasphemous symbols of the Church.

Authorities of the Catholic Church in Singapore with Archbishop William Goh also echo Archbishop Arguelles' sentiments as the singer is also slated to perform in the country this Sunday.

"It is our moral obligation not to support those who denigrate and insult religions, including anti-Christian and immoral values promoted by the secular world," the Church leader wrote on the Catholic diocesan's website as reported by Reuters.

Meanwhile, Madonna stops by an orphanage in Manila named Bahay Tuluyan and spend time with orphans and even manage to take selfies while she lies with them on cardboard mats, Inquirer.net reported.

"Chillin' with my homies," she captioned the photo.

In another post, she congratulates the orphanage for taking care of the street kids.

"Hats off to the Bahay Tulyan Foundation in Manilla for taking so many kids off the street," she wrote.

According to Bahay Tuluyan executive director Lily Flordelis, Madge is with twenty dancers and body guards in coming to the institution.

"The children were very happy to see her. She played with them, danced with them and chatted with them," Flordelis said in a separate interview.

Madonna also managed to visit one of the oldest orphanages in the country, Hospicio de San Jose.

This is the 57-year old artist's first time to have a show in the Southeast Asian country after lots of attempts in the past. For this season, the Mall of Asia in Manila is one of the songstress' 13 stops in Asia. There are 80 more places included in her tour. Tickets for the Rebel Heart concert ranges from P3,150 for general admission and P57,750 for a VIP seat.
