Ryan Reynolds, Deadpool Star, Talks About His First Date With Blake Lively
Ryan Reynolds has hit the headlines this week with the release of Marvel's newest superhero, Deadpool. However, in a recent interview, Jess Cagle from Sirius XM Entertainment Weekly Radio, changed the course of the usual conversation by asking the actor on how she met his lovely wife, Blake Lively.
During the interview via People, the 39-year old actor revealed that he and the actress were buddies in their Green Lantern days and had even went on a double-date when they discovered their friendship could mean more.
"About a year after Green Lantern had come and gone and we were both single we went on a double date - she was on a date with another guy and I was on a date with another girl - and it was like the most awkward date for the respective parties because we were just like fireworks coming across," he revealed.
The couple has long been married since September 28, 2012 and has given birth to daughter James Reynolds. Since then, they stopped appearing together in red carpet moments but had, once again, broke the routine by appearing in this year's red carpet for Deadpool, E! Online said.
Reynolds also shared that how he love his wife and his kid saying he 'worship' the toddler and had him 'wrapped around her fingers.'
"One of the most common things in the world is making out, having a couple of drinks, and then doing it, and then having a baby. I was perfectly sober for this one though. I gotta say. Its amazing. I just always marvel how common it is and yet how profound it is. And I always laugh because you know celebrities you always cringe when they talk about their kids. Like 'my child is the only one that has ever exited a womb out, ever," he said jokingly.
"But I love it. I truly worship that kid. It's terrible. She has me so far wrapped around her finger it's dumb. She says 'dada' and I will walk through a cement wall to get to her," he added.
Meanwhile, the interview moved on to more serious matters such as Reynolds weak performance of Deadpool in the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
"It was a very frustrating experience. I was already attached to the Deadpool movie. We hadn't at that point written a script yet. [Origins] came along and it was sort of like, 'Play Deadpool in this movie or we'll get someone else to,'" he shared as mentioned in EW.
