In answer to the recent state of emergency of the Flint Water Crisis, Pearl Jam and other musicians helped out by sending cash donations and has been setting up a crowdfunding event to further send more help.

"Monetary donations will first be used for the purchase of water filters, bottled water, emergency support services and prevention efforts in Flint, Michigan. After the short-term need of Flint residents has been met, any remaining funds will be directed to the Flint Child Health and Development Fund. This fund will provide aid to children and families with interventions that support positive health outcomes," says the message reflecting the intentions of the band as to where they will the raised money would go as mentioned in Consequence of Sound.

This week, the band is said to have donated $125,000 with $175,000 coming from the collaborated efforts from Pearl Jam's close music associates and partners-- Glaser Progress Foundation, Live Nation, Brandi Carlile's Looking Out Foundation, Republic Records, Ticketmaster, Universal Music Publishing Group and William Morris Endeavor Entertainment.

The grunge band also promoted Crowdrise, said to be set up by Jack White's Third Man Records which requires $13 of donation in exchange for a five-year subscription of Third Man Platinum Vault, Pitchfork said.

Subscribers of the crowdfunding site are said to have special privileges such as the exclusive rights to own special merchandise and live chats with Jack White among others.

Donations for the Flint Water Crisis not only involved rock stars. Big Sean, also gave $10,000 via his non-profit, the Sean Anderson Foundation with his statement saying that he is feeling 'devastated' by the water crisis and is hoping to raise money to save the children and the future.

On Twitter via HNGN, he aired his intentions saying, "I'm raising money to support the kids of Flint Michigan. Toxic water in Flint has rendered the water undrinkable and put the entire city in a state of emergency. Flint's children were hit the hardest..."

Aside from Big Sean, Meek Mill also sent 60,000 bottled water and sent a special donation for children. He even urged 50 Cent to do the same.
